For Jennifer Bricker, the answer is ‘anything’. With ‘can’t’ not part of your thought process, nothing is impossible.
Bricker is an American acrobat and aerialist. During high school, she placed fourth at the AAU Junior Olympics (power tumbling) and a featured performer on Britney Spears’ 1999 Circus tour.
She was also born with her heart on the opposite side of her chest and without legs – birth defects which contributed to her biological parents putting her up for adoption shortly after her birth.
Bricker’s adoptive parents not only showered her with love, but also applied the one rule they had for their biological children to her: Never say ‘can’t’.
And Bricker proved that mindset true, conquering rollerskating, volleyball, power tumbling and becoming an acrobat spinning 30 feet in the air from silk ribbons.
At the age of 20, Bricker discovered that her childhood idol, US Olympian gold medalist Dominique Moceanu was her biological sister and tracked her down.
If you took ‘can’t’ out of your vocabulary today, what could you accomplish?
