Are you looking to improve your golf swing, but aren’t quite sure how to do it?  While golf is an easy game to learn, it’s also an incredibly tough game to master. From putting to driving to chipping, there are all kinds of different golf strokes that you need to master in order to improve your game.  Luckily, there are plenty of tips and techniques out there that can help you improve your game. Read on to learn how to play golf, improve your swing, and win more games.

1. Use Less Power

Many beginner golfers believe that the more power you put into your swing, the better it’ll be. However, smacking the ball as hard as you can often leads to a stunted shot that veers off in the wrong direction.  And in some cases, too much power can cause you to miss the ball altogether. So, instead of focusing on putting as much power as you can into your swing, concentrate on keeping your arms steady and relaxed. Shift your power into your hips and torso and move your body with the club on both the upswing and the downswing.

2. Slow It Down

Another mistake many people make is moving through their swing too quickly. While you do need to move at a fairly rapid speed when you swing, you need to make sure you’re not moving too quickly, especially on the downswing.  Otherwise, you’ll miss out on the essential movements and you’ll likely stand in the incorrect position. When you approach the ball, take a moment to observe your surroundings. Note the direction of the wind and whether or not there’s a glare from the sun that might obstruct your vision.  Adjust your position accordingly or put on some sunglasses so you can better see the ball. Also, make sure you give yourself enough time to posture yourself correctly and run through the sequence of movements in your head before you carry out your swing.
