Stories of the golf legend’s stinginess have been circulating almost as long as he’s been on the pro circuit. Woods’s former coach, Hank Haney, noted the golfer’s notoriously frugal ways in his 2012 book The Big Miss, calling Woods the greatest golfer of all time but also cold, ruthless, petty, and cheap. Fellow golfer Darren Clarke told the Dubai Eye Sports Tonight podcast that, despite his wealth, Woods can never be coerced into footing the bill for dinner.
