4. Libya

There are more educated people in Libya than in any other African country.

Libya has a literacy rate of 91.00 per cent, with a population of 6,871,292.

Primary education in Libya is both free and compulsory. Between the ages of six and fifteen, Libyan children must attend primary school, after which they must attend secondary school for another three years (15- to 18-year-olds).
