Zambia aim to respond against Bafana

Zambia coach Wedson Nyirenda has expressed hope that his side can respond with a good performance against Bafana Bafana, after losing to Mozambique last weekend.

Chipolopolo lost 1-0 at home to the Mambas in their opening 2019 AFCON qualifier in Ndola, and Nyirenda is hoping for a response against the South Africans.

Bafana enjoyed a 2-0 victory over Nigeria in their opening AFCON qualifying game, and come into the contest fearing very little. However, coach Stuart Baxter is expected to make a raft of changes to his starting line-up.

Nonetheless, Zambia’s coach said, “I think we will put Saturday’s game behind us, we will need to get into South Africa with more confidence.”

The match will take place at the Moruleng Stadium outside Rustenburg and the visitors will field a team comprised solely of home-based players.
