Wome targets more goals for Bucs

Orlando Pirates attacking midfielder Dove Wome wants to keep scoring goals for the Sea Robbers after he added his second goal in as many games against Polokwane City.

The Togo international has gained a reputation as a player with the ability to score goals from advanced midfield positions, and his strike against Rise and Shine earned Pirates a point over the weekend.

The 25-year-old will no doubt be a valuable asset to recently appointed coach Kjell Jonevret when Bucs face fierce rivals Kaizer Chiefs in Saturday’s eagerly anticipated Soweto derby.

Wome has expressed his desire to keep on scoring goals. He told the Sowetan: “I hope I can keep scoring and obviously, there is a big game coming (against Chiefs). I’m not promising anything but you know team work is important.

The player added that he was delighted to be finding form again after leaving SuperSport United in January. He added, “It has been difficult for me this season. I had an operation and was out for two months.

“When I came back SuperSport was already doing well so it was difficult for the coach (Stuart Baxter) to change. I got a chance to move and show what I can do. It was difficult at first but now I’m getting game time I’m happy for now.”
