Shoe-shaped church, Taiwan
The local government built a 55-feet-high (16.8 meters) and 36-feet-wide (11 meters) glass church in the shape of Cinderella’s high-heeled shoe in Chiayi, Taiwan. The design of the church, which was built in two months at the cost of US $686,000, is inspired from a local woman’s story whose wedding was called off after her legs were amputated. It opened to the public on Feb. 8, 2016.
