Bangladesh have handed a maiden ODI call to left-arm spinner Sunzamul Islam who replaces Mehedi Hasan in the 16-man squad that will face Sri Lanka in a three match series.
The only other change sees allrounder Shuvagata Hom come in for Tanbir Hayder in a like for like switch after the latter failed to impress in his two ODIs to date.
Meanwhile in a bizarre scenario Mahmudullah has been retained in the ODI squad despite being sent home from the Test squad, meaning he will fly back to Bangladesh spend a few days there and then return to join the ODI unit in a move that makes little sense logistically.
Sunzamul has enjoyed a cracking first class season that saw him claim a nine wicket-haul for the North Zone against Central Zone back in February his return of 9/80 stands as the third best innings haul in first class cricket for Bangladesh.
He is also a handy left-handed batsman with a big first class ton to his name.
It is unclear at this stage is Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim will reclaim the wicketkeeping gloves with reserve keeper Nurul Hasan retaining his place in the squad.
