Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Jose Torrealba says that countryman Gustavo Paez is a quality buy for the club that needs time to adapt to his surroundings.
The 26-year-old forward made his debut as a second-half substitute in Chiefs’ midweek victory over Free Stats Stars and Torrealba is confident he will be a success for Amakhosi.
“I think he’s a good player, very quick, and I hope he performs well in order to meet the expectations,” Torrealba told Soccer Laduma.
“He has the talent but the most important thing is for him to settle down and gel with his new teammates. Get used to the pressure that comes with playing for Kaizer Chiefs, get used to the team and also get a chance to prove himself.
“He’s very quick and packs a good shot. He makes good runs on the field and is comfortable on the ball.
Torrealba the Chiefs faithful to be wary of placing too much pressure on the new acquisition without giving him a chance.
“They must give him a chance and be patient with him. Playing for any of the Big Three in South Africa comes with a lot of pressure from the supporters,” he added.
“They must believe in the guy and give him and his teammates all the support they need in order to change the club’s fortunes in front of goals.”
