The Tattoo: The former Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch leader was rarely seen without his shirt on early in his career. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Wahlberg flaunted his legendary muscular build — as well as eye-catching arm tattoos — on stage and cinema. He inked a photo of reggae legend Bob Marley on one arm and his initials and last name in huge, ombré font on the other. “All the tattoos have meaning to me,” the Departed actor once claimed before getting them removed in the mid-2000s.

Wahlberg has removed all of his tattoos because he “doesn’t want my kids to acquire tattoos.” He also disliked spending hours on site in the makeup chair. He told the Today Show, “I wanted them [removed] by the time I did The Fighter because putting makeup on and covering them up has always been a pain in the buttocks.”

Wahlberg recently spoke with E! News about the grueling removal process, which he has already warned his Spenser Confidential co-star Post Malone about: “I informed him that he’ll want to remove his at some point, and it’ll be terrible,” he said. “It hurts harder to take them off.”
