Tefu remaining patient at SuperSport

SuperSport United defender Tefu Mashamaite admits that watching from the sidelines is a first for him in his career but knows maintaining a positive mindset is key.

With Morgan Gould recently winning the club Player of the Year award and Clayton Daniels remaining consistent at Matsatsansa – the former BK Hacken central defender has been restricted to just three league appearances since arriving from Sweden.

With his teammates recently being called up to the Bafana Bafana squad, Mashamaite noted that their recognition on the national stage proves how difficult a task it will be to gain his place back into the starting XI.

“I’ve been in the starting line-up for most of my career, and like I said, I need to exercise patience this time around if I’m to break into a starting role (here at SuperSport),” he told IOL.

“Both and Clayton Daniels and Morgan Gould have been doing really great, hence that’s why they are in the senior national team.

“I really need to play in a competitive match, so as to gauge how good my match fitness is,” he added. “I only got to play 10 minutes in our MTN 8 quarter-final clash against Kaizer Chiefs that felt great to be honest.

“The season is still long and I believe that my time will come as the season progresses. I just need to be patient.”
