SuperSport United v Platinum Stars

Keagan Ritchie sits out SuperSport’s match against Platinum Stars on Saturday through suspension, with the Rustenburg side having three players suspended.

The Tshwane club are also without defender Tebogo Mokoena, who is on duty with South Africa at the U-20 World Cup in South Korea.

Kulegani Madondo, Solomon Mathe and Sphamandla Mlilo are the three players missing through suspension for Cavin Johnson’s side, while Kobamelo Kodisang is also at the U-20 World Cup.

SuperSport, who lost 3-0 to Chippa United in their previous match, need a win to ensure that they finish in fourth spot and above Kaizer Chiefs, who are just a point behind them ahead of Saturday’s final round of league games this season.

The Pretoria side though may also be casting their focus ahead to the upcoming Nedbank Cup final against Orlando Pirates in Durban on June 24.

They are also participating in the CAF Confederation Cup and won 5-3 away in Gabon against Mounana on Tuesday.

In addition, head coach Stuart Baxter has just started his reign as Bafana coach and with all these factors taken into account, SuperSport may struggle to play with maximum intensity and focus.

In 10th position, Stars still have a fair chance to claim a top eight spot if they can beat SuperSport. They will however need the likes of Maritzburg United, Ajax Cape Town and Golden Arrows to drop points in their matches.

Dikwena also played in the Confederation Cup this week, but lost 4-2 away at Swazi side Mbabane Swallows.

Domestically, the North West club have been in good form, having beaten Chiefs and Highlands Park while drawing to Sundowns and Maritzburg in their last four matches.

The match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium is scheduled for a 3pm kick off.
