Stormers lose De Jongh, Treeby to injury

The Stormers’ win over the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein at the weekend proved costly after centres Juan de Jongh and Shaun Treeby sustained injuries.

De Jongh left the field early in the game with concussion, which will rule him out of the clash with the Sunwolves at Newlands on Saturday, while Treeby will be sidelined for two weeks with a rib injury.

Full-back SP Marais injured his knee after landing awkwardly and sustained no major ligament damage, but his progress will be monitored weekly as to how he responds to treatment.

Meanwhile, Springbok centre Damian de Allende returns to full training with the DHL Stormers this week after recovering from a quad injury.

Props Oli Kebble (thigh) and Ali Vermaak (calf) are still recovering from their respective injuries. Both players face a race against time to be fit for the Super Rugby quarter-finals.
