Substitute Aristide Bance and Prejuce Nakoulma scored in the 80th and 82nd minute respectively as they became the first team to book a place in the last four at AFCON 2017
The Burkinabe created the first chance at goal in the 14th minute. Bertrand Traore played a lovely weighted pass through to Prejuce Nakoulma but he blazed over from close range.
Five minutes later it was Tunisia’s turn to threaten the goal. Taha Khenissi failed to direct his header on target after he was well picked out by a Naim Sliti cross.
The chance of the half fell to Traore just two minutes later. The man on loan at Ajax Amsterdam from parent club Chelsea chipped goalkeeper Aymen Mathlouthi, after the lively Nakoulma managed to pick him out in the area.
The Carthage Eagles had a golden chance to take the lead ten minutes before the break. Sliti whipped in a corner that was flicked on at the near post by Khenissi but Valencia defender Aymen Abdennour was inches away from making contact with a header.
The Stallions started the second half with real purpose as the Tunisians looked to play on the counter attack. The breakthrough came in the 80th minute when substitute Aristide Bance struck a free kick low into the bottom right corner to give his team a deserved advantage.
Paulo Duarte’s men killed the game off two minutes later. A hacked clearance by the Tunisian defense was chased down by Nakoulma who rounded keeper Mathlouthi who was way off his line and passed the ball home to score his third goal of the tournament.
