South Africa v Botswana

South Africa will be targeting a place in the Cosafa Cup Plate final when they take on Botswana at the Moruleng Stadium on Tuesday.

Bafana Bafana were knocked out of the main competition at the quarter-final stage on Sunday when Tanzania clinched a 1-0 win over Stuart Baxter’s charges.

The tournament hosts won the competition in Namibia last year, but will now be aiming for the Plate final, where they could meet Namibia or Swaziland.

Meanwhile, Botswana will be eager to earn their first outright victory over their neighbours, especially after losing to Bafana Bafana in the final last year.

Botswana were beaten 2-1 by Zambia in their quarter-final clash on Saturday, but will be looking to the likes of Mpho Kgaswane to lead the Zebras to victory on this occasion.

South Africa have lost their last two fixtures, losing 2-1 to Zambia in a friendly before the defeat to Tanzania, while Botswana have also suffered defeat in their last two outings, to Mauritania and Zambia.
