Former Nigeria coach Samson Siasia believes it would be in the Super Eagles’ best interest if Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi moved to other clubs.
Iheanacho made only 20 appearances for Manchester City in the Premier League this season as he struggled to get picked ahead of Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus.
Meanwhile, Iwobi made 26 appearances for Arsenal in the league and Siasia believes both men should move on in the off-season to find more game time.
“Nobody is happy that with the huge talents of Iheanacho and Iwobi they did not play many matches for Man City and Arsenal,” Siasia said, according to Sporting Life.
”We cannot also blame their managers Pep Guadiola and Arsene Wenger for leaving them most time on the bench because the players that played ahead of them are more experienced.
“This why I would like them to seek playing time elsewhere if necessary to be able to be hot and smoking for the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers.”
