Shabba grateful for Chiefs half century

Kaizer Chiefs attacking midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala has expressed his delight and admitted his gratitude after scoring his 50th goal in the colours of the club.

The veteran netted his milestone strike during Chiefs’ 3-0 victory over Stellenbosch in the Nedbank Cup. Since joining the Glamour Boys in 2007 from Free State Stars, the 32-year-old has tallied a half century of goals.

Despite reaching the latter stages of his career, the Soweto-born star appears to remain an integral part of coach Steve Komphela’s plans.

The player told his club’s official website, “It’s a big milestone and I’m happy. I feel grateful to be part of the legacy of Chiefs because it means a lot and that’s why I’m here playing for Chiefs. I thank everybody involved in this achievement.”
