Alexis Sanchez scored goals in either half as Arsenal got back to winning ways, despite a spirited away performance from Hull City.
Arsene Wenger would have been worried from the stands as he continued his touchline suspension against a Hull City side that no longer look like relegation candidates.
The Tigers went toe-to-toe with the title hopefuls and proved to frustrate the Gunners for large spells of the first-half with their positive game-play going forward.
Lazar Markovic and Omar Niasse in particular looked lively for the Portuguese tactician when they broke swiftly on the counter but on the day it was world class talent that seperated the two sides.
Laurent Koscielny and World Cup winner Shkodran Mustafi were their composed selves in the back four for the home side and kept Wengers side in the game.
On the other end of the pitch it was the determination and inciveness of Alexis Sanchez that pulled his side through for all three points.
His first came after 33 minutes, a slightly controversial one, the Chile international was right in front of goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic when the loose ball ricochet into the back of the net off his hand.
The second came right at the death as he became the top scorer of the Premier League.
After rounding Jakupovic as he ran onto a through ball over the top, the former Barcelona man had the presence of mind to stop, and whip in a cross to Lucas Perez in the area.
