SA debuts for new BMW M5, M4 CS and X3 M40i at M Festival

The BMW M Festival is set to be the place where the new M5, M4 CS and X3 M40i make their South African debuts.

The new M5 boasts all-wheel drive and will make its international debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September, while a  441kW sedan version is set to go on sale in the first quarter of 2018.

The new M4 CS boasts a 338kW output thanks to its 3.0-litre twin-turbo engine. It can reportedly hit 100km/h from standstill in 3.9 seconds, with a topspeed which is electronically limited and comes standard with the M Driver’s Package of 280km/h.

The X3 M40i, the first ever M Performance model in the X3 line-up and only due for market release in November this year, will also be on display at the festival.

The festival will also offer visitors opportunities to book test drives across the BMW M and M Performance model range.

In addition, motor enthusiasts can also expect to see a special appearance by BMW DTM race team (Team Schnitzer with driver Tom Blomqvist) at the festival and get a chance to experience hot laps in the BMW M4 DTM car around the 16-turn, 4.522km anti-clockwise FIA graded circuit.

The BMW M Festival will take place at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Johannesburg from October 21-22.

Tickets are now available.
