South African Football Association communications manager Dominic Chimhavi has revealed that Stuart Baxter is reportedly on the brink of becoming the new coach of Bafana Bafana.
The current SuperSport United boss has been in talks with SAFA over the role and is now expected to be announced as the man to take over from the sacked Shakes Mashaba.
Chimhavi told the Sowetan, “We’ve finalised everything and pen has been put to paper. The announcement could be tomorrow or any time from now. It’s just a matter of calling you guys (the media) to the official announcement.”
Baxter had a failed spell in charge of Bafana in 2004/05 before later restoring his reputation in South Africa after enjoying success with Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United.
