Orlando Pirates have confirmed that a new full time coach will be named next week Monday with current interim coach Augusto Palacios stepping aside.
The Sea Robbers called a press conference on Monday morning to address leadership issues in particular after the club were thrashed 6-0 by Mamelodi Sundowns last Saturday.
It was a black day for Bucs as they were not only hammered by the Brazilians but some of their fans also ran onto the pitch at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
As such, Pirates chairman Dr Irvin Khoza has revealed that a new coach will be named in one week’s time as the Mayfair-based outfit look to reconsolidate.
He told reporters: “Next week Monday we will be announcing a new coach. We were restricted to do so in January by prohibitive buy-out clauses. It’s not easy to find a coach for the club, and even less so when people you are looking for are held by contract obligations.”
