Speculation surrounding the 25-year old’s future at the Catalan club is reaching fever-pitch as reports continue to circulate that French giants Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a stunning €222m bid to trigger his buy-out clause.
“Neymar and I we are very close and I want him to stay and I know the situation,” Pique told ESPN.
“Right now, he doesn’t know what to do and we are trying to help him, the ones [on the team] that are more close to him to take the right decision.”
The Barcelona defender also explained his reasoning behind an ill-timed tweet he posted which claimed that Neymar would not be departing the Camp Nou.
“We will see. The tweet was about pushing him to stay,” he said. “I want him to stay and we will see what happens.
“It depends on what he wants. He can be in all the clubs in all the world. He can be in Paris, Barcelona, Chelsea or City.
“All the clubs will want him. It’s about your priorities. What do you want? Do you want more money? Do you want to win titles?
“It’s happening here and it’s happening in the NBA as well. There are some players that are not earning all the money that they deserve to win titles.
“So sometimes you have to take decisions in life and it’s all about priorities,” Pique added.
