Pic of the Day: I’ve got you!

I’ve got you!

Giant hands rise from the Grand Canal in Venice to protect and support the historic Ca’ Sagredo Hotel.

The installation, Support, by Italian artist Lorenzo Quinn, forms part of the Venice Biennale 2017.

The installation is a reflection of the dual sides of human nature to create and destroy, as well as humanity’s capacity to act and make an impact on history and the environment.

“I wanted to sculpt what is considered the hardest and most technically challenging part of the human body. The hand holds so much power – the power to love, to hate, to create, to destroy,” Lorenzo Quinn says.

The installation will be on view until November 26.
