Nouri’s charges drew 1-1 with Wolfsburg on Tuesday, which means they are still without a Bundesliga win so far this season, drawing two games and losing three.
Werder looked the more likely of the two sides to score the winning goal towards the end of the clash, but neither were able to find the decisive strike.
Nouri said, as quoted by Wolfsburg’s official website: “We wanted to defend as a compact unit and break at pace in the first half. On the whole, we were generally solid in our processes and defended well.
“We unfortunately made too many errors whilst in possession and lacked clarity and courage. We were thus unable to relief the pressure.
“In the second-half we looked to defend higher up the pitch and show some more courage when on the ball – which worked well for us and we then managed to carve out a number of openings.
“It’s a shame we didn’t manage to reward ourselves with all three points.”
