The world-record signing watched as PSG defeated Amiens SC 2-0 in their opening league encounter as he waited for his transfer paperwork to be completed.
The Ligue de Football Professionnel are reportedly are still awaiting an International Transfer Certificate from the Real Federacion Espanyola de Futbol, but all administration is expected to be completed ahead of this weekend’s tie.
Speaking ahead of the match, the former Barcelona attacker said it is a ‘great honour to be able to represent PSG’ and he is ‘ready to play’.
He told This is Paris on beIN SPORTS: “I’m very happy to be here, to take on this big challenge at this great club. The project here appeals to me. I share similar ambitions to the club and that is very important for me.
“Paris is a great club with top players. The fact that a club like Paris wanted to sign me means a lot. I’ve come here for a challenge and I hope to leave a mark on the history of this club.”
He added: “I’m ready to play, I’m happy and I want to contribute however that may be. It’s a great honour to be able to represent PSG. I will give everything to repay the faith that the club has shown in me. I will give my all and play my best football. And hopefully I can make everyone happy.
