Moyes laments refereeing decisions after defeat

Sunderland boss David Moyes admitted that some of the decisions against his side made it difficult to get anything out of their loss to Manchester United.

The Red Devils took the lead through Zlatan Ibrahimovic, before the Black Cats were reduced to 10 men with the sending off of Sebastian Larsson just before the break. Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marcus Rashford scored in the second half to secure a 3-0 win for United.

Larsson was shown a straight red card for a tackle on Ander Herrera, and Moyes was not best pleased with the decision.

“There’s disappointment we didn’t get anything from the game,” Moyes told Sky Sports.

“United were good but we hung in there.

“I just think a couple of decisions went against us. It’s hard enough to play against United with 11 men never mind 10.

“The decisions didn’t help us today. I don’t want to really focus on the ref. Maybe the decisions today had an impact on the game.

“We have to do more in some areas. The decisions didn’t help.”
