Moses: No guarantee on beating Zambia

Super Eagles star Victor Moses admits concern over the threat Zambia pose to Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying hopes.

Chipolopolo have made a late charge in Group B and going into Saturday’s match in Uyo, a penultimate qualifier, they are just three points behind the Super Eagles at the top of the standings.

Chelsea defender Moses has faith in Nigeria’s quality on the pitch, but accepts they could be in for a real battle against the exciting young Zambian team.

“I can’t guarantee if we are going to beat Zambia or not. To be honest football is sometimes very tricky, you win some, you lose some,” he was quoted saying by SCORENigeria.

“We have got quality players who can win us games. As I said before, we are working collectively as a team and as you can see right from the very first day we have shown strength and passion.”

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr also paid his respects to Chipolopolo.

“Zambia has a team with young players, who are quick strikers,” he said.

“When we played in Zambia (Nigeria won 2-1), they watched us and know us too. So, we need to have creativity to change the way we play to be able to surprise them.”
