Meyer’s future at Schalke in doubt

Schalke midfielder Max Meyer has revealed that he will take things as they come, after being linked with a departure from the club.

The 21-year-old is about to enter the final year of his contract at the Veltins-Arena, and recently declared that he would not sign an extension.

The Royal Blues had an underwhelming season in the Bundesliga, finishing in 10th position, and Meyer may be looking elsewhere having already been linked with Liverpool and Tottenham.

While on duty with the Germany U21 team in Poland, the youngster told reporters he “will take things as they come.”

Meyer added: “Sure, there is hope that things will be better for me at the club. I have not said that I will leave Schalke, but rather that I won’t extend my contract. We’ll see about the rest.”
