The 32-year-old left-back has won two Premiership titles with Chiefs in his five seasons at Naturena. He has also been part of Amakhosi side that has endured two consecutive seasons without silverware.
“The two past seasons have gone without silverware in our cup cabinet, and that has been a wake-up call for us. But the fact that we have been amongst the league title contenders in these two seasons, is an evidence that we remain a league title-challenging team in the PSL,” Masilela exclusively told Vodacom Soccer.
“Lack of consistency has been our main downfall in these two past seasons, but we will regroup and fight to reclaim our pride.
“You know, having won two league titles with the team I know very well the feeling of lifting that league trophy. And of course, I would be happy to win another league title with the team,” added Masilela, who has made 147 appearances in Amakhosi colours.
Chiefs last won the Premiership title in the 2014/15 season, and finished fifth and fourth in the league in two consecutive seasons respectively.
