Maritzburg confirm departures

Following the departure of Kurt Lentjies last week, Maritzburg United have confirmed that Tumelo Mogapi, Happy Mashau, Tsepeletso Motjotji, and Lindokuhle Mathebula will be leaving.

Lentjies will join up with Chippa United, but fringe players Mogapi, Mashau, Motjotji and reserve keeper Mathebula will all be looking for new clubs after having been released by the KZN side.

“Players that have been released are Tumelo Mogapi, Happy Mashau, Tsepeletso Motjotji and Lindokuhle Mathebula,” the club stated on their website.

“As days and weeks go by, we will be making further announcements – whether it’s players leaving or joining the club,” said Marketing and Communications Manager, Brian Zuma.

The Team of Choice meanwhile are set to sign Baroka FC attacking midfielder Mxolisi Kunene, if a SoccerLaduma source is to be believed.

“Mxolisi Kunene has been signed by Maritzburg United. He has been signed on a two-year deal with an option for another two years. He is a Maritzburg United player now,” the source claimed.

Ajax Cape Town midfielder Ziyaad Eksteen has also been linked by the same publication to Maritzburg.
