Manyama: Bafana must be vigilant

Cape Town City star and Bafana Bafana midfielder Lebogang Manyama believes that the national team must be sharp ahead of Tuesday’s friendly with Zambia.

Bafana are bubbling with confidence after recording a superb 2-0 win over Nigeria in a 2019 AFCON qualifier, courtesy of goals from Tokelo Rantie and Percy Tau.

Meanwhile, the visitors to the Moruleng Stadium outside Rustenburg lost to Mozambique in their opening encounter. However, Manyama has warned against being complacent when the two teams clash.

“Yes, Saturday’s match against Nigeria was a massive morale booster but we should not get carried away,” he told SAFA’s official website. “We have a long way to go to get to the levels where we want to be and become a dominant force again.

“Zambia’s pride was dented over the weekend and they would like to redeem themselves in this game. We must be vigilant and put 150 percent in whatever we do going forward.”
