Steve Komphela appeared a dejected figure after Kaizer Chiefs fell to a 1-0 defeat against Polokwane City on Saturday evening.
The narrow defeat to Rise and Shine further damaged Chiefs’ slim hopes of a top three finish this season in order to qualify for CAF football – after Thapelo Tshilo’s 75th-minute goal proved to be the winner.
And after the game the Amakhosi boss reiterated their consistent troubles in finding the back of the net, after dominating large spells of possession.
“Congratulations to them [Polokwane]. They fought for it, they had the energy, and unfortunately, with us, we didn’t take the chances we had or advantage of the situations we created ourselves,” he said.
“You need to take the chances you create. Maybe one thing we could have done better is play forward quicker.”
Fifth-placed Chiefs’ next league encounter is against Platinum Stars at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Wednesday evening.
