Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has apologised for his Twitter tirade against some fans who criticised his performance against Golden Arrows.
The Chiefs captain was blamed for allowing Knox Mutizwa’s last minute header to go in, which effectively cost the Glamour Boys two points, and ended their title hopes.
After the game, Khune took to Twitter and lambasted his critics and cited that he never gave anything less than 100% in every match he played for the club.
Nonetheless, it seems Chiefs were not happy with his tirade and the 29-year-old has since said sorry for his actions. A statement said, “I sent out a few tweets out of anger and frustration.
“The club has always emphasised that we need to be mindful when we use social media and should never tweet when emotional. I would like to profusely apologise to all those followers who were offended.”
