Rani Khedira is delighted to have joined FC Augsburg following his switch from RB Leipzig on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old former VfB Stuttgart midfielder played just 10 times for the Bundesliga runners-up this past season, prompting him to look for greener pastures.
He had joined Leipzig from Stuttgart in 2014 and helped them secure promotion to the German top-flight.
And while the Ralph Hasenhuttl-coached side finished behind just Bayern Munich, Augsburg ended the season in a lowly 13th place.
Khedira, who becomes the club’s first signing this off-season, has signed a four-year contract.
Speaking after completing his move, the younger brother of Juventus midfielder Sami, said: “I feel very positive. I am delighted to be here. It feels great to have finally signed the deal and I am excited about my future with FC Augsburg.”
He further explained why he decided to join Augsburg.
“FCA have offered me a very good opportunity. I can play a lot of Bundesliga games here and the talks with people at FCA went very well, and that made me feel great about the idea of coming here.
“I am already looking forward tot he next Bundesliga season. I want to play a big role for FCA.”
