Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is confident his goal scoring exploits over the last two and a half years more than justifies the praise he has received recently.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino labeled his star man as one of the best strikers in the world after Kane netted a hat-trick against Stoke at the weekend – his third in just nine games.

Kane currently tops the Premier League scoring charts, alongside Romelu Lukaku, with 17 strikes, ahead of the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and tops the list of Premier League goals scored since the 2014/15 season with 63 ahead of Sergio Aguero (61), Diego Costa (48) and Alexis Sanchez (46).

“I feel that if you look at my stats, my goals, then I’m up there,” he was quoted saying by Sky Sports. “If you guys want to print that [I’m one of the best in the world], I’m more than happy to have that.

“Look, I just try to do my best. I like to score goals, obviously I will try and score as many as I can from now until the end of the season. I feel in good form.

“Is this my best form ever? Yes I think so, I feel fresh, I feel sharp, I feel in good shape. Of course that injury I had earlier in the season might have done me a bit of good, getting a bit more rest.

“I’ve had a good couple of months now so it’s important I continue that until the end of the season.”
