Jonevret’s plea to Bucs fans

Orlando Pirates coach Kjell Jonevret has called on the club’s supporters to rally behind the team as Bucs try to finish the season strongly in the league and cup.

The Sea Robbers are still alive in the Nedbank Cup and are currently in the running to secure a top eight finish as well. A recent resurgence in form has seen Bucs record two wins on the bounce. The Sea Robbers are now just two points away from position eight, with a match in hand.

As such, Jonevret has pleaded with Pirates fans to become the 12th player on the pitch. He told Vodacom Soccer, “The results have not been we expected so far from the club. But, there’s still a lot of football.

“So, please, player number 12 – please, you are so important to everyone and the players, they work hard out there every day to try make you proud. Hopefully, you are going to be with us for the rest of the season also.”

The Mayfair-based outfit face struggling Highlands Park on Saturday evening. The action gets underway from 20:15 at Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa.
