Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Fabian Johnson is eager to extend his stay with the club as he has just one year remaining on his current deal.
The America international has been a regular part of coach Dieter Hecking’s starting line-up since arriving at Gladbach in 2014, from 1899 Hoffenheim.
In 2016/17 the 29-year-old has made 22 appearances in all competitions, with four goals. The 54-cap USA international is a versatile performer for the Hecking’s outfit as he can play as a wide midfielder and as a fullback.
Johnson confirmed to the media that he was hopeful of staying with the Foals.
He told reporters: “I feel really happy at Gladbach. Anyone who plays for a team like this would be happy. It’s no secret we’re in talks (about a contract extension).”
