Bayer Leverkusen full-back Benjamin Henrichs expressed his delight after signing a two-year contract extension at the club where he grew up.
The 20-year-old came through the youth ranks at Die Werkself and has become a regular first-team starter, while amassing 28 Bundesliga appearances this season.
A rising star at right-back, Henrichs has also earned his first cap for Germany’s senior team, making his debut in November last year.
“It’s great for me that the club I’ve been at since I was 13 years old has given me all these opportunities,” Henrichs told the club’s official website.
“I’m very happy I’ve made it as a professional and an international at Bayer 04. At Leverkusen I’ve always been shown so much confidence, encouraged and developed.
“Now, after a difficult season, I want to help the club to get back to the level that Bayer 04 stands for.”
