Veteran SuperSport United defender Morgan Gould believes his side are up to the challenge when they face Chippa United in Saturday’s Nedbank Cup semi-final.
With the Premiership league title race already decided and there little left to play for, the centre back says work rate and intensity could be key to success.
The Chilli Boys come into the contest on the back of a morale boosting 3-0 victory over United in the league last Wednesday, and will no doubt be full of confidence.
Gould told Soccer Laduma, “It means that they will be excited and motivated coming into the semifinal. We have a big task on game day, a task that any footballer would love to be a part of.
“Look, it’s going to be a good game. Chippa are on a high following the midweek game result against us. For us we need to work hard to beat them, it’s not going to be (an) easy game, but it is game on, and it’s the Nedbank Cup!”
Saturday’s clash will take place at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane. It will be one of Stuart Baxter’s final matches in charge before he takes over the Bafana Bafana job.
