Gallery: Kevin Anderson makes SA proud

Kevin Anderson made history by being the first South African in 33 years to reach the US Open grand slam final.

Kevin Curren in 1984 was the last South African to reach a Grand Slam final.

Even though Anderson lost 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 to Rafael Nadal in New York City, he has surely made his country proud.

Anderson tweeted on Monday morning” It’s been an incredible 2 weeks. This is a memory I will never forget & I look forward to making more! Thanks, @usopen… see you next year”
