Fuel prices expected to drop

The Automobile Association (AA) announced that petrol prices are expected to decrease by 24 cents per litre next week.

“The AA is predicting a decrease of around 24 cents a litre for petrol, which includes that 39 cents. So that’s really is good news. Obviously, it would have been more had it not been for that 39 cents increase to the tax, but I think at this stage, motorists will take a decrease of any kind,” the AA’s Layton Beard said.

Beard explained the reasons behind the possible fuel drop.

“International petroleum prices continue to reach an ease during March on the back of an increase in global stocks. Over the same period, the rand performed strongly against the US dollar, obviously not with recent events.”
