Burnley manager Sean Dyche was satisfied with his team’s hard-fought goalless draw away at Middlesbrough on Saturday.
The trip to Riverside Stadium would have appeared to be a great opportunity for the Clarets to claim their first away victory in the Premier League this season.
However, Dyche was pleased with the result that saw them climb to 12th position in the standings.
“It was a hard-fought point. A lot has been made of them having a hard run but we know how difficult it is here,” he told the club’s official website.
“They are a good side who we knew would have to throw caution to the wind and we came strong in the second half, so in the end I think it was a fair result.
“I take great pride in that. The beauty of the game is there for all to see, but you have to do all the nitty-gritty, all the ugly stuff and the hard stuff and we are very fortunate, when you think of the support we`ve got.”
