The Rossoblu were thrashed 7-1 the last time the Partenopei visited, and Donadoni is wary of another onslaught against a side who have won both of their first two Serie A matches.
“The fact Napoli are considered the strongest side in Serie A right now shows you how difficult this game is going to be for us,” Donadoni said.
“It’s banal to say we have nothing to lose, but the truth is any result is worth double against these opponents. We have to contain them, but also attack.
“We mustn’t think about last season’s 7-1 defeat, even if it remains a stain on our CVs. We learned our lesson, albeit a tough one, and tomorrow will be a different game. Napoli give us even more motivation to prove ourselves.
“We have to work has a team and a collective, because if we act as individuals, Napoli are comfortably stronger man for man. If we get caught in one-on-one situations with open spaces, we’re in serious trouble.
“The first two rounds went alright, but we have to maintain consistency and step up a gear. It is forbidden to take a step backwards.”
