Complaining of dizziness in the wake of Friday’s second practice in Hungary, Massa was taken to the MH EK Honvedkorkaz hospital for checks.
The Brazilian was released the same night and cleared to drive in FP3 on Saturday morning by the FIA medical delegate.
However, he managed just 12 laps before he was out the car and back in Williams’ hospitality area.
As such Williams have opted to put reserve driver di Resta in the car for the remainder of the weekend.
He will contest qualifying and Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix.

Di Resta last raced in Formula 1 in 2013 before he was dropped by Force India and returned to the DTM series.
