Crown National presents National Butcher’s Challenge at Fire & Feast Butcher’s Festival

This year’s Fire & Feast Butcher’s Festival presented by Crown National promises to be a worthwhile show, with top butchers participating in the first National Butcher’s Challenge.

Twelve groups of six butchers will compete at the festival to take home the title of South Africa’s National Butcher’s Challenge Competition.

Caroline McCann owner and custodian of the National Butcher’s Challenge, according to Bizcommunity, says that butchers participating in the challenge will be judged on the three distinct categories: hygiene and safety, followed by marketability of the cuts of meat presented and lastly presentation and uniqueness of product formula.

The Fire & Feast Butcher’s Festival takes place on Friday, May 26 to Sunday, May 28, 2017.

The best butchers from each team will be chosen to represent South Africa at the World Butcher Challenge in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in 2018
