Chiefs have capacity to win the title says Molangoane

Amakhosi winger Joseph Molangoane feels that Kaizer Chiefs have enough depth in their squad to mount a serious league title challenge.

The 2015/15 champions finished fifth last season, 25 points behind league winners Mamelodi Sundowns.

But with 12 matches to play this season, Amakhosi are top of the standings, a 1-0 victory over Highlands Park on the weekend making it five wins from their last five league outings.

Molangoane admits there is a long way to go still, but believes his side are potentially stromng enough to claim the Premiership title.

“I think we have the depth to win the league, but it is a marathon that we have to run by treating every game as it comes,” he said.

Since joining from Chippa United, Molangoane has made a positive impact in the Chiefs attack. But with one goal from seven league outings, he wants to improve on his contribution in that department.

“I think I can still do better. I have to score more goals. It is nice when you get into a team that is winning.

“The team was struggling a little bit when I came in, but they were not losing. Getting points is better than coming into a team that is losing.

“I think that’s one thing I have to work on, scoring more goals,” said the 28-year-old former Pirates attacking midfielder.
