The pairing will replace Thulani Hlatshwayo and Eric Mathoho, who saw duty in last Saturday’s 2-0 2019 AFCON qualifying victory over Nigeria. Hlatshwayo is being rested while Mathoho has a slight shoulder injury.
Coach Stuart Baxter has expressed faith the two young centre-backs can rise to the occasion against Chipolopolo.
“It will be an interesting pairing playing against a strong Zambia team,” Baxter said. “Can they cope? We will see.”
