Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero admits he is feeling alive again after earning a first-team place ahead of the struggling Claudio Bravo.
Bravo arrived from Barcelona at the start of the campaign, causing English stopper Joe Hart to make a season-long loan move to Torino and restricting Caballero to a handful of appearances in cup competitions.
However, the Chile international has been in poor form in recent weeks presenting Caballero a chance to show what he can do in the Premier League first team.
“It’s fantastic,” he told Sky Sports. “I started the season playing but when Claudio arrived I thought he was going to be No 1. He played a lot good games.
“Before the game with West Ham I had a meeting with the manager and he told me he put me in the starting XI.
“It’s both exciting and scary, I feel my heart and skin when I receive a ball. Of course I’m excited and scared but those emotions make me feel alive.”
Caballero and the Citizens are next in action on Monday night when they travel to the Vitality Stadium to take on Bournemouth.
