A host of current team members and legends were present at the unveiling on Monday at Adidas’ Base football facility in Johannesburg. Aside from a press conference and the presentation of the kit – a five-a-side game also took place involving the players and legends.
The club will no doubt hope that the new colours help inspire an improved season after an indifferent 2016/17 campaign. Aside from finishing outside of the top eight, Bucs also lost in the final of the Nedbank Cup.
Thamsanqa Sangweni, Wayne Sandilands and Nigerian striker, Christian Obiozor, are some of the new players added to the Sea Robbers squad as a change in fortunes is sought after.
As such, Sikhosana, who was at the unveiling, told reporters that the shirt must act as a catalyst for improvement. He said; “It’s an honour to be here with the current players, let’s hope the players will wear this jersey with pride.”
