Ajax Amsterdam head coach Peter Bosz admits the Europa League draw has set up a massive quarter-final tie with Bundesliga side Schalke 04.
Schalke advanced into the last-eight round of the competition after beating domestic rivals Borussia Monchengladbach on the away goals rule, with a 3-3 aggregate score over the two-legs.
While the Eredivise giants recorded a victory against Danish side FC Kobenhaven, with an aggregate 3-2 victory.
Now, after the draw, Bosz shared his thoughts to the press; “My first thoughts on drawing FC Schalke 04 in the quarter-finals of the Europa League were that they are a big club from a big league.
“They also have a lot of international experience and a big, modern stadium. We will have to analyse them well.”
Die Knappen boss, Markus Weinzierl, shared similar sentiments to his counterpart, claiming he knnows a big club like de Godenzonen, will provide an attack-minded encounter.
“It’s a nice draw. Ajax are a big name and they have a good team. A young team that wants to play strong attacking football.”
The first leg of the quarter-final between the two teams will take place on Thursday 13th April at the Amsterdam Arena.
